Start with the question and position

Look at the card before reading the explanation. Identify one detail, then ask how its theme could relate to your question. If the card appears in an Action position, consider a response you can choose; if it appears in a Situation position, compare its theme with what you can actually observe.

The upright and reversed meanings offer possible interpretations. Neither orientation establishes another person鈥檚 intentions or guarantees a future event. Our combination guide shows how to connect two images through a worked example.

The 22 Major Arcana

The Major Arcana provide broad themes such as choice, responsibility, transition and completion. Read them in context rather than assuming that a Major card makes a question more serious. The three interactive draw tools use this 22-card group.

Frequently asked questions

Are all 78 cards included in the interactive draws?

The reference collection includes all 78 cards. Daily Draw, Three-Card Spread and Yes/No Oracle use only the 22 Major Arcana. The 56 Minor Arcana remain available to browse by suit.

Is Strength VIII or XI?

In the Rider鈥揥aite鈥揝mith sequence shown here, Strength is VIII and Justice is XI. Other decks can use a different order. Check the card numbers on the deck you are reading.

Are the Minor Arcana numbered 22 to 77?

No. This directory lists them by suit and rank. Numbered Minor cards run from Ace through Ten, followed by four court cards in each suit; they do not continue the printed Major Arcana sequence.
