About Lumina Tarot
Lumina Tarot is an independent collection of free tarot references and browser-based reading tools. The aim is to help you explore card symbolism, ask useful questions and relate a reading to your own experience.
Who maintains the site
The project is maintained by turnomega, who also runs Lumina Numbers. No professional tarot, clinical or academic credentials are claimed. Questions and corrections can be sent to turnomega@gmail.com.
What the readings are based on
The card imagery is from the Rider–Waite–Smith deck, illustrated by Pamela Colman Smith. Arthur Edward Waite's The Pictorial Key to the Tarot is a reference for the imagery and historical card descriptions. Our modern examples about relationships, work and everyday decisions are editorial interpretations; they are not quotations from Waite or verified predictions.
Two-card readings begin with the individual images, the question and any named spread positions. Elemental relationships provide an additional interpretive lens. They do not measure relationship compatibility or the chance that an event will happen. The combination reading guide explains this approach, and the elemental guide lists the correspondences used here.
Calculators and conventions
The birth-card calculator uses a Life Path numerology method and a mapping chosen for this site. Other birth-card systems use different calculations and may return two cards. In particular, the mappings from 22 to The Fool and from 33 to The World are part of Lumina's convention. See the worked calculation and full mapping before comparing results between sites.
Editorial changes and corrections
On 15 September 2026, we removed numerical compatibility ratings and automatic verdicts from the combination reference, began expanding pair readings with examples and positional interpretations, corrected the birth-date validation and clarified saved browser preferences. Both orders of those expanded pairs now use one article covering how spread positions can change the emphasis.
We also revised the Daily Draw, Three-Card Spread and Yes/No Oracle to use a shared set of 22 Major Arcana interpretations. Their guides now describe the actual deck, selection method, reversal convention and sharing behaviour. The Three-Card Spread offers three named layouts. The separate card reference includes all 78 cards; the interactive draws use the 22 Majors.
The 22 Major Arcana reference articles now use those same core meanings, with additional observations about each image, worked examples, comparisons and questions about common misunderstandings. We removed fixed timing predictions from those articles and separated the printed card numbers from the birth-card calculator’s mapping. The card directory links to all 78 references by number or suit.
By 16 September 2026, all 56 Minor Arcana references include image observations, upright and reversed interpretations, distinct worked scenarios, comparisons and practical exercises. The Minor Arcana directory introduces all four suits. Swords articles separate difficult imagery from factual predictions; Pentacles articles focus on practical resources, skills and responsibility.
The combination collection now covers all 231 different-card pairs from the 22 Major Arcana. Each pair has one article addressing both named-position orders. A single guide to recurring cards now brings together the former 22 same-card entries, with draw-method explanations, worked examples and a specific prompt for each Major Arcana card. These counts describe this reference collection, not the number of possible readings from a full 78-card deck.
The homepage and beginner guides use the same deck inventory and interpretation conventions as the tools and references. The examples are illustrative editorial scenarios, not reports of consultations or evidence of predictive accuracy.

The learning section adds five side-by-side card comparisons and a five-card study tool using all 78 references. The practice tool invites a personal interpretation before revealing the explanation, and saves study choices in the browser. A study rating is not a score or a measure of predictive ability.
Access and support
The tools do not require an account or payment. Advertising is intended to help support the site, and ads may appear when available. Advertising partners do not determine the card interpretations. Details of analytics, advertising and local preferences are in the privacy policy.
Tarot here is a symbolic practice for entertainment and reflection. It does not establish facts about another person's intentions or guarantee future events.
