Lumina Tarot is a free, ad-supported tarot reference and reading space. Our goal is simple: to make the meaning of every card — and how cards work together — clear, accurate, and genuinely useful, without paywalls or sign-ups.
Our Approach & Sources
Every card meaning on this site follows the Rider-Waite-Smith (RWS) tradition — the most widely used tarot system in the world. Astrological correspondences are drawn from the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn decanic system, which maps the 36 Minor Arcana pip cards to the decans of the zodiac and the court cards to their elemental triplicities.
Where most references explain cards in isolation, we also publish hundreds of two-card combination readings with a calculated synergy score, because in a real reading cards are never read alone.

Lumina Tarot is the sister site of Lumina Numbers. Every Life Path number is governed by a Major Arcana card — so your numerology and your tarot archetype are two views of the same story. We connect the two throughout the site.
A Note on Intent
Tarot here is offered as a tool for reflection and self-understanding — not as a guaranteed prediction of future events. Use the cards to think more clearly about your own situation; the insight is yours, not the deck's.
Who runs this site
Lumina Tarot is an independent project — not a company, a publisher, or a content agency. It is built and maintained by turnomega, who also runs its sister site Lumina Numbers. No professional or clinical credentials are claimed here. What is claimed is narrower and checkable: every meaning on this site is traced to a documented source rather than invented, the arithmetic behind every calculator is shown on the page, and anything a reader demonstrates is wrong gets corrected.
The site is funded entirely by advertising. Nothing is sold here — no readings, no courses, no decks — and no page is a paid placement.

Editorial standards
Card meanings follow the Rider-Waite-Smith tradition as documented in Arthur Edward Waite’s The Pictorial Key to the Tarot (1911), now in the public domain. Astrological and elemental correspondences follow the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn attributions — the decans of the zodiac for the pip cards, elemental triplicities for the court. Tarot has no single authority, and other traditions assign some of these differently; where this site states a correspondence, it is the Golden Dawn one unless the page says otherwise.
Combination readings are generated from a documented method: the two cards’ elemental relationship, their numerological sum, and their individual upright meanings, combined into a synergy score you can see the components of on every combination page. We would rather show the arithmetic than present a number as an oracle.
Card images are from the 1909 Rider-Waite-Smith deck, whose original artwork by Pamela Colman Smith is in the public domain in the United States and in most jurisdictions.
Corrections
If something on this site is wrong — a correspondence, a date, a broken calculation — tell us at our contact page and we will fix it and note the change. Reader corrections are the main way errors get found on a site this size.
