The Seven of Pentacles pauses practical work for evaluation. Time already spent matters, but it does not by itself justify continuing unchanged. Look at what the effort has produced, what conditions affect progress and what a sensible next review would examine.
Upright meaning
Use a measure that fits the stage of the work. A beginner’s practice may be producing greater consistency before it produces a polished result.
Give an appropriate process time, while remaining willing to adjust it. Patience and checking are compatible when you know what you are waiting to observe.
Reversed meaning
Reversed, you may be expecting a result before the process can reasonably show it, or continuing a method that is not meeting its purpose.
Separate those possibilities through evidence. Compare the current approach with an achievable standard and the conditions it actually requires.

Compare effort with useful results at an agreed checkpoint. Keep what is working and change the part that evidence suggests is ineffective.
Reversed
Check whether you are refining the wrong thing or judging too early. A review needs a relevant measure rather than a general feeling of impatience.
Time, attention and materials
Account for the next round of time and materials separately from what is already spent. Past effort cannot be recovered by adding more without a purpose.

You have drawn every evening but feel that the finished pictures are not improving. The Seven appears as Advice.
Compare the same small exercise from the first and fourth weeks. Look at one skill, such as proportion, rather than judging entire pictures. If progress is limited, ask for specific feedback and change the exercise. The reading creates a useful checkpoint, not a promise that persistence alone guarantees improvement.
Change the position
As Situation, the Seven may describe work awaiting evaluation. As Obstacle, constant checking may be interrupting the practice needed to produce new information.
